Precision Marksman II picks up where Precision Marksman I left off, further expanding your knowledge in the art and science of long-range shooting. This course reinforces a structured approach to the fundamentals of precision rifle marksmanship while continuing to develop your skills.

Students will receive continued instruction on environmental effects and their impact on long-range shooting. The day will begin on the range by confirming rifle zeroes, followed by a marksmanship refresher and calibration. We will then move into grouping exercises and data collection at distances of up to 400 yards before progressing to extended distances ranging from 400 to 800 yards.

Our goal is to achieve first-round headshot accuracy at 200 yards, body shots out to 600 yards, and consistent first- or second-round hits at 800 yards. This represents the standard we believe any capable rifleman should be able to meet—regardless of position and on demand. Each student will leave with an accurate muzzle velocity reading and practical ballistic data for their chosen rifle.

Traditional positional shooting methods will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced through practical exercises. Additionally, unconventional shooting techniques using commercial and improvised rests and shooting positions will be covered, along with an emphasis on understanding individual limitations. Environmental effects, range estimation, and the essential formula for long-range success will be discussed and applied throughout the course.

This course continues your journey toward mastering long-range shooting and its practical application for the American Rifleman.
