SCOUT MARKSMAN COURSE: SUNDAY, AUGUST 3, 2025 8AM-4PM
This nation was built on the belief that citizens should own a rifle and be capable of using it to protect their family, home, and community. This course is grounded in that principle. Building upon the skills learned in our Intermediate Distance Rifle/Carbine course, the Scout Marksman course will push your rifle skills out to 400 yards and introduce you to the Scout Marksman role. While this course can be shot with your 5.56 carbine, it is specifically designed as an introduction to large-caliber Battle Rifles.
The course is based on the Designated Marksman concept, designed to bridge the gap between carbine distances and the role of a sniper. In addition to refining the skills learned in previous courses, you will learn how environmental factors affect trajectory and how to account for them. You’ll practice using improvised rifle rests to maximize stability and improve hit success, while also learning to read and understand the firing field. This course will help you build confidence in your ability to engage and hit a threat at all distances, from close range to far.
By the end of this course, you will be a more capable, knowledgeable Armed Citizen, with a solid understanding of how the Scout Marksman role fits into your Individual Protective System.
