American Rifleman-Long Range I will pick up where our Intro to Long Range Shooting left off. We will continue to expand your knowledge in the Art and Science of long-range shooting. You will be taught to remain grounded in a robust approach to the fundamentals of precision rifle marksmanship. Students will receive an introduction in environmental effects and how they affect long-range shooting. Rifle zero’s will be confirmed, marksmanship refresher and calibration will start the day out on the range, moving to grouping exercises and data collection out to distances of 400 yards. Each student will leave with a good muzzle velocity and usable data for their chosen rifle. Traditional positional shooting methods will be explained, demonstrated, preformed during practical exercises. Unconventional shooting methods using commercial and improvised rests and positions will be covered along with understanding our limitations. This course will continue you down the path to understanding the world of long-range shooting and its application for the American Rifleman.Introduction to Long Range Shooting will ground you in the fundamentals of precision rifle marksmanship. Taking a structured approach to marksmanship, we will start with rifle configuration, optics, and set up, understanding units of measure and how they apply to rifle shooting, fundamentals of marksmanship and application in your role as a long-range marksman, zeroing procedures, and rounding out with practical application. This course will start out with classroom instruction but quickly move to the range to garner hands on experience in application of fire with your chosen rifle. This is an introductory course that will start you down the path to understanding the world of long-range shooting and is a precursor to our Long Range I course.
